Recently, top executives at Apple Leisure Group (ALG), at the International Tourism Fair in Spain known as FITUR, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to establish itself as a global provider of exceptional all-inclusive vacation experiences.
Through a variety of activities at FITUR, the team celebrated a record-breaking 2017 financial performance, continued to synergize partnerships to help drive ALG’s distribution channels out of Spain, continental Europe, and beyond, as well as offered a sneak preview of things to come for the Group.
2017: Another Record-setting Year

ALG and AMResorts’ executives share the company’s year-end results at FITUR.
In an exclusive event attended by key members of the media, hotel investment and business communities, company executives shared that AMResorts closed 2017 with more than $1.5 billion in sales, a 20 percent increase over the previous year.
Additionally, the brand’s 52 resorts across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America sustained an average occupancy rate of 80 percent, a significant increase over the industry standard of 65 percent for the Americas.
Setting Sights on Spain

ALG’s Vice President of Development Federico Moreno-Nickerson alongside the Puerto Vallarta Convention Tourism Board’s Managing Director, Javier Aranda.
Both, during the press conference and throughout FITUR, ALG executives expressed their commitment to increase awareness of AMResorts’ brands among travelers and hotel investors alike.
Known for frequenting all-inclusive resorts, the Spanish guest represents a significant opportunity as this market tends to travel during the summer months, opposite of AMResorts’ main guest base, North Americans.
In addition, Spanish travelers have longer average stays and continue to frequent Mexico and the Dominican Republic, destinations AMResorts’ has had a long-established presence.

ALG’s Moreno-Nickerson also met with the Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, Rodrigo Esponda, and the Europe-based representative for Los Cabos, Manuel Diaz-Cebrian.
One of the significant advantages that ALG offers to investors is the team’s strong relationships with local governments and tourism boards in the countries where the resorts are located.
These connections, and the company’s extensive history of planning, opening and successfully operating resorts in many of these destinations, have made ALG a preferred partner for investors seeking to enter these highly competitive markets.
